I'm pretty sure it's a Singer with non-original wings.
I agree, my father had a Singer Le Mans when I was in the womb, my mother told me a story about how the "Carden shaft" ( not a term you hear nowadays) came through the floor and cut her leg which scarred her for life. I suspect this is not a Le Mans version as they had a different rear end to accommodate twin spare wheels.bowder said:

Pretty sure it's a Riley of some sort - probably one of the many variations on the Nine, like a Lynx or Gamecock tourer.
Agreed, the radiator badge is the right size, shape and location.Riley Blue said:

The car isn't like any pre-war Riley I've ever seen and I must have seen and photographed thousands. Happy to be proven wrong though.
In that case, and going with the Singer proposal, some sort of Singer Nine Sports, or Sports customised/stripped to look like a Le Mans?2xChevrons said:

Yes, in 1959 or thereabouts a friend had a Singer nine sports that, apart from great scruffiness, looked much like this. As I understood it, the original Singer Le Mans was a Nine Sports with a few enhancements - one of which in the later cars was a six-cylinder 1½ litre motor.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
