Popped up on the ‘Barn Find’ page.

From what I can gather in the comments;
It’s the real deal & is resting in Leyton.
It’s been converted from a LHD to a RHD.
The number plate is worth a few quid
Had a bit of a ding. (Repaired).
... one comment was not to buy it. scratchchin
( Still seems a waste...)

It was interesting to read the comments on the actual driving experience though... mostly about the turbo lag.
But...it still didn’t put them off.

I doubt it's been "abandoned" for very long, looks pretty clean with no accumulation of moss or algae on it, tyres look to be inflated, that vegetation could easily just be from one growing season.

Agreed... perhaps ‘abandoned’ gives the wrong impression.
Perhaps ‘vegetating’. scratchchin

Seems that a lot of people would like to save it...depends if the current custodian wishes to part with it.
( A few suggestions of 20K - 30K might tempt them)

That's been there years, look at the mould on the door trims. The overgrowth is far for than 12 months worth.

I've never driven one... I doubt very many have. But with it being a 3.6l it is going to be exempt from turbolag by virtue of having some actual displacement in the first place. No doubt you will feel the boost coming in (as you do with all good turbocharged cars!) but it won't be sluggish before the boost threshold.

A bit more about this LC (2010) yikes
(unless there is another one in Leyton... the bush seems to have grown well over the last TWELVE years.)

Yes, interesting conclusion linked in that thread http://www.lotus-carlton.co.uk/other_cars/lotus_h7...

Looks like this is effectively a ringer running the ID of the original LHD model

Rubbish.

My car gets some mould or algae accumulation on it when I don't wash it for 6 months or so and that vegetation could definitely have grown up just this year, I'm guessing you don't have a garden and aren't familiar with just how rampant weeds and brambles can be if left unchecked for just a few weeks never mind a whole summer.

Sounds like the rough original car / reg number was rebuilt/ repaired with components from an even worse car... plus a steering conversion to boot.

Dunno why the guy advises to steer clear of it? LHD/RHD conversions are easy to do if you have both cars sitting side-by-side and all the parts on hand. Definitely worth the effort for a car of this sort. No reason to think it would be a bad car because it has been converted to RHD?

As young Charlie says on the B&C intro... “ There’s a story behind all of these cars”.

If the front end on the written off LC was OK, it seems a logical move to rebuild & convert it to RHD...making it more attractive for the UK market.
At the least... it can’t be called a replica.

If you took a second to follow the links above you would see that the car has been there since at least 2010...

That doesn't mean it's been abandoned completely in all that time.

The car itself has quite obviously had a wash at some point in the last 12 years there's no way it would be that clean otherwise, and if that vegetation hadn't been kept in check for the last 12 years, in particular the brambles, it would have extended to completely cover the car by now.

Nice parking. Presumably the owner hasn't received any mail since it was parked there.

Trying to buy it will probably be futile, though. unless you're prepared to pay far more than it is worth. Stuff that has some value, is on display and is decaying is that way for a reason. The owner has an emotional attachment to it and doesn't need the money, or they think it is worth a gazillion quid.
