I might need to change the tires on my Triumph Herald 1200 as though they are in good nick the tires are old now (age wise)

Any recommendations as to where I can get them, I did a quick search and the ones that were available were very pricey at almost 200 a corner!

Don't suppose your going for classic tyres i.e crossplys, just normal radials? Camksills came up trumps for cheap tyres for my VW Beetle, that are still on the original 60's steels, now running radials.

What size are they?

I did a search for size and found these at my local tyre shop.

Unless you really want crossplys.

Both Vintage Tyres and Longstone are good to deal with. You get what you pay for with tyres.

I've been using Blockleys for 20 years now and would recommend them to anyone. Good price, good road holding, and never a puncture. And my usage includes rallies and track days so for your Herald you should have no worries b

Another fan of Blockleys, just changed a set after 10 years and 20,000 miles and they were not even half worn.
Excellent roadholding, a classic tread pattern and a nice company to deal with.

Some modern Chinese ditchfinders from Camskill will be a bout £45 a corner for the 145R13 Herald size as said.....

Or period style radial from Blockley are about £75 a corner

https://www.blockleytyre.com/product/145r13

Depends how period looking you want?

Blockley seems great, but unfortunately they do not offer whitewalls in 215 70 15 for my C2.
Does anyone have an idea apart from the Nankangs I found on ebay?

Nankang ditchfinders on a C2!!!
Behave redcard

The Finnish company Kontio don't do that size either, but they are white whites so C1 style, not narrow whites as per a C2.

North Hants Tyres offer a few choices in narrow white wall in your size

Yes, I know, you're right, shame on me!

This size with narrow bands seems not so easy to get, underestimated that...
Most choices are speed rated S, should at least H as well.

It seems the best way is having Blockley built whitewalls into Pirellis or Michelins to have decent tyres.

Old hard ones (from '17...) are on it now, after a slight drizzle it's like running slicks in torrential rain, had a few moments already, so thought Nankangs would be better than the wooden things right now, so forgive me.
Back to searching...
But thank you lot for the tips so far, very appreciated.

However, only 3 choices for narrow band at North Hants, and two of them are Made in China, and one the Maxxis, made in Taiwan.

Only real option is BFG Silvertown's imported from the USA. North Hants should be able to get them, but they won't be cheap, probably be well over 300 quid each with crap exchange rate at the moment.

A little off topic but in my view dismissing cheap tyres as "ditchfinders" on a classic is misguided. I suspect that even the cheapest modern tyres will offer considerably more grip than the 60's or 70's tyres originally fitted to a Herald.

I competed, for a while, in a mk1 Golf.Ppart way through a season I switched the mixed set of Eastern European tyres it came with for new tyres from Yokohama and there was very little measurable difference on the track. Only one example but the Hungarian tyres were fine.

Not saying they looked as good or the right option for the OP

That comment of mine was more in relation to sidewinder500's question about the tyres for his C2 Corvette, which is in a slightly different category to a Herald wink
