NEC Classic car show in Nov 22 Ticket prices
Discussion
Just thought that I would take a look again this year at the cost, every year I swear its the last time im going as I feel its a bit of an old format in comparison with Techno Classica. This years tickets are over £30 with mandatory booking fee and the parking was £16 last year as well.
It certainly makes for an expensive show, are there any discount codes out there chaps?

Mike Brewer / Wheeler Dealer has a discount code of "Mike" which knocks £2 off tickets. If you know anyone in a car club that's displaying there, they normally get a discount code for a bit more. Sometimes there are better ones around, though I haven't seen any yet.
I believe you can park at a local railway station (for free) and get a train in for a couple of pounds, as long as you're not planning on buying anything heavy or awkward to carry. I forget which station it is, though.

I stopped going quite a while ago but I always used to head for the trailer park and tell anyone who stopped me I was picking up a trailer for such and such exhibitor; one I'd picked at random from the on-line list.
Once there I parked it between two vans with a third blocking the rear. It worked every time but if they'd looked at the back of the car they'd have seen there was no tow hitch.

Thats an absolute classic, hats off to that man.Once there I parked it between two vans with a third blocking the rear. It worked every time but if they'd looked at the back of the car they'd have seen there was no tow hitch.
Stopped going a few years ago due to cost and my general lack of interest in old British cars (yes, I know they have other countries marques in attendance but it is understandably Brit-centric).
Booked my return visit to Essen last night. Obviously, it costs a lot more than a day at the NEC, but it’s an amazing event.
The pubs in Düsseldorf are another reason for going!

I've been many times over the years and yes yo can park a few stops down the line and get a train to the NEC but my biggest grips is that the lighting in several of the halls is so poor. Where they have the 'autojumble' stalls is particularly bad. Doubt I'll go this year.
The lighting is very annoying. I went a few days after eye surgery last year, which probably wasn't the best idea anyway, and it was very uncomfortable. Everything is relative.I think it is a fantastic show and worth coming down all the way from Bonnie Scotland. 4 of us drive down on Saturday afternoon. Premier Inn,up for the full English breakfast and off to the NEC for opening time on the Sunday. I love Bruce Springsteen and he is coming to Edinburgh next summer but come on £500 for a concert ticket,he can F OFF. A hero of the working man,not when it comes to ticket prices!

I think beards moaning about the NEC Classic Car show prices has occurred every single year since it started in the 1980s Has anyone booked a concert, comedian, football match ticket etc. in the last few years? For a show of this size the prices are entirely reasonable.
Beards Moaning I think your right, they probably prefer to stand in a cold wet field next to their Classic for a fiver. It’s a great day out and well worth the money.
I haven't been for a few years, purely because my sister used to work in the car insurance industry and get me a complimentary ticket. But not any more...
The only advantage I can see is that because it is a show, the sellers of pricey but transportable items (e.g. Car covers) may have stock with them. This will save a lot in P+P costs. Classic car insurance providers will inevitably have people there so you can get some quotes to set against each other, many of them don't appear on comparison sites.
I'm unsure, but years ago, it could be treated as a 'fair' or ' open marketplace' I think, meaning no VAT but I doubt this is the case now. Take sandwiches and drink is my recommendation, there is a LOT to see and the prices there are

There's usually a very good pasty seller there and I'm always happy to pay for decent stuff. droopsnoot said:

Hampton-in-Arden is the station - certainly used to be free parking and a few quid for train ticket, don't know if it still is but Google will tell you.Olivera said:

This all day long. Every year it’s the same moans! We went, to the theatre on Saturday, it cost us over £300 with the train and food and it was crap as I fell asleep in act 1 and I had no idea what was happening!john2443 said:
