Simple enough, it's Land Rover S1 on the left... only not many clues and mostly hidden, what's that on the right?

I'm sure I know that car, this pic has been eating me up. It's of the same era, you're in the right area, likely something pretty dull, not a Humber. The Humber's windscreen has a differing line in that corner. I'm thinking something Rootes?

Humber was Rootes, of course, so it could be one of the sister cars, Hillman SuperMinx for instance , or, because it appears to me that the back of the roofline drops away quite quickly for a four-door, perhaps a Sunbeam Rapier?
Someone more up to speed on these things will be along to shoot that theory down.

Looks like a LHD wiper set-up to me. Wheels look like American aftermarkets from the 60s / early 70s ??

Still got me stumped though…

Agreed, rims don't look 'factory'. Initially I thought it was one of these...

Quarter-light is wrong. Well-spotted on LHD wiper.

I don't know what it is, but the unusually thick chrome around the screen must be a good clue for someone.

Gilbern Invader it is not.

Yet, roof-line drops off rather sharpish for a four-door?

Singer Gazelles had the wipers 'the wrong way round'.

Definitely looks Rootes group to me, just so hard to tell them apart when you're relying on bits of trim etc which may or may not have been changed over the years.

^^ Sharp eyes here ^^ with that 'wrong' wiper has to narrow the field for the rest of us. Something French?

Renault Floride is damned close, only at the moment I'm checking aerial position and seems not quite right. But they seem to move with no fixed 'factory' position. After-market I think.

With that thick screen surround I thought it looked like it may have a removable hard top. Whatever it is, it’s probably left hand drive with that wiper park position.

Don't reckon it's the Renault. If you zoom in, the side gutter looks way to heavy, quarterlight not quite right and the top of the wing is almost vertical, wheras its heavily angled on the Renault. Also think the wipers a bit of a distraction, plenty of British stuff with wipers that way (e.g Austin 1100) and stacks of LHD old German/French stuff where they park on the left.

No clue what it is though frown

Facel Vega MkII maybe...?

The car in question has less chrome trim on the roofline and extra trim on the bodyside though.

My first guess was a Facel Vega or perhaps a Bristol 4xx.

Only looking on my phone at the moment but is that a heavy chrome gutter trim or just a strip of snow?
