The 100S was of course involved in the horrendous accident at the 1955 Le Mans. I spent years interviewing people here and finally could scotch the rumour that Hawthorn was responsible because he overtook the Healey and braked hard to enter the pits. It was said that the performance of his disc brakes made the difference. But the 50 100S cars made had the same Dunlop disc brakes as the D-type. Incidentally, one was auctioned in the USA this month for $500,000.

This particular Healey was also active during the 1955 season but across the pond in the States. The "Great Dane" Healey was piloted in the '55 Sebring 12 hours by socialite Lady Greta Oakes. She was born in Denmark but lived in the Bahamas with her husband who was a co-founder of the Bahamas Speed Week. Lady Greta also competed in this event on multiple occasions during the 1950's.
By all accounts an interesting lady, great to see that her car lives on.
