Vintage car purchase - holding off

The temptation to purchase pre war car has waned now, for the time being. The financial stuff coming down the tracks has made me sit back and really ponder how wise/unwise another purchase may be at this time.
Beautiful Talbot Darracq 16hp tourer earlier this year popped up in the auction circuit, lovely car in splendid order. Guided £30-35k and didn’t sell. Eventually guided at £25k didn’t sell and then offered for £20,700 which I though a bargain and sorely tempted. To my surprise before I could offer on it a deal was struck at £15,750. An amazing bargain which to.d. e about the state of the vintage car market, lord knows what it will look like in one or two years time.
