This has been pestering me for some time:

its not mine

the ARomeo OC guys aren't interested in it - made contact with them and showed no interest

a mate has a 6000 mile ex Hong Kong or Malta, Alfa Sud "GT"
he can ask the original owner to verify the mileage if needed and it can be verified

differing from the standard Sud it has as standard:
alloy wheels
wider rear spats
air conditioning
we think an uprated engine
probably other bits that are different form standard Sud's

its needs a little fettling to just tidy but is practically showroom, no rust, 1 owner prior to him

I've suggested probably a major auction house to sell it or surely worth a contact as it's so rare, they do charge but of course would promote accordingly to find "the right buyer"
I'm thinking it's too good to eBay
I don't think Mathewsons or Anglia Classic Car auctions would promote as I think it needs/deserves

what to do?

Can I suggest tapping into the above FB group. There’ll be someone on there that knows it, wants it etc, or can broadcast it to others who might.

Good call, possibly if going down the auction route consider Collecting Cars or similar, they always seem to give a decent write-up/exposure to anything out of the ordinary.

Any pics of the Sud...?

did a little more digging and can't find anything about a Sud GT as yet. some overseas assembled cars were badged as GTa from what i can see but they appear to be differently badged Ti's.

an interesting one but beyond my budget i'd think, as are most Suds nowadays - had qute a few (and Sprints) down the years and really enjoyed owning and driving them

Some photos and some actual detail would be handy.

What year is it?
What engine?
What body style?

Collecting Cars seems to be gettnig a lot of attention, as there aren't any sellers fees to list - and a modest buyers premium which is capped for super expensive things. So, its no surprise that a lot of other auction companies are doing something similar - Bonhams now have "The Market", Car and Classic have their own auctions, although many of these have modest sellers fees.

I would have thought that if you wanted to use a traditional auction, I'd probably avoid the top of the tree RM Sothbys and Bonhams and look at people like Historics, Brightwells, H&H and so on, and I'd possibly include Anglia Car Auctions in that category.

However, I'd try either Collecting Cars myself or a classified advert on Car&Classic (free) and consider a classified Ebay advert as there will be lots of people who have Alfa or Alfasud as a saved search. Just make sure the advert is written well and comes across as reasonable, unlike the typical dross you see that was possibly written by a 12 year old. These tactics minimise the fees associated with some of the other methods, is likely to result in a quicker sale and the seller gets more of the proceeds.
