Identify these 40's or 50's cars please!

I think the car in the foreground is a '50's Chevrolet but not sure about the one in the background.

Not sure about the one in the back but the one at the front is a 56 Chevy Utility Sedan, might be a Bel Air.

I think the one in the background might be an Austin 16.

But it's from the "we all order the same body panels from Pressed Steel and stick our grille on the front" era, so it can be hard to tell.

Hell of a smack. Looks as if it has run into a brick wall rather than, presumably, the other car.

The body damage makes it looks worse than it probably is. As long as the chassis is straight it'd be easily reparable. No crash structure or safety cell in those days.

Its not a Bel-Air, its a 210 (trim level down from a Bel-Air)

The photo was taken in East London, South Africa.

The chap in uniform is (I believe) a traffic cop in uniform of the period.

The steering wheel does appear, in the photo, to be on the right in the Chevy.
