Anyone going this weekend?

if it's anything like the coys festivals from a few years ago, it should be a bit special!

I always enjoyed the old Coys weekend at Silverstone and having looked at the races planned for this weekend it should be even better.

A very tasty looking Group C field which looks well worth the entry alone.

I can’t recall if my own member clubs (De Tomaso drivers) is doing at stand at this one or not but I am certainly plan a Hoon over one way or the other

Historic F1 should be good too.

any idea why there hasn't been a show like this for a while at silverstone?

i think the last coys was in 2001.

i'll be there both days and there has been a show like this at silverstone but for the past few years its been Bonham & Brookes and admittedly not as good as the halcyon days of Coys till this year. I really think its going to be back to its best.

As I recall the last Coy's Historic Festival was held at Rockingham in 2002 I think, and the meeting at Silverstone was just called the Silverstone Historic Festival.

I agree the Silverstone event was always brilliant, I particularly liked the 'access all areas' mentality meaning that you can get close to the cars and drivers. I remember one year (2000 I think) when I got to chat with Chris Rea in the paddock

I will be there this weekend, hopefully it will be as good as in the past.

Me too and he hadn't even tried to hog a garage just in the open paddock

29 entries for the Thoroughbred GP apparently and using a circuit layout that is more like the original - other than the m. mouse after Bridge.

Will be there Saturday (at Donington on Sunday). Looking forward to the Group Cs and the TGPs. Oh, and the F5000 cars (now there's an idea for Max and Bernie!)

Like everyone else it seems, I too used to love the old Coys festivals. Great access, huge numbers of quality cars and lovely weather. Hope the weather behaves this time...

Guys,

I've got a spare all weekend Premier Pass (exclusive access to covered grandstand).

It cost £20 so if anybody wants it for face value send me an e-mail through my profile - but do it before 5pm today as I will be away tomorrow.

Pete.

If anyone is coming along in a classic, Classic & Sports Car are running a car park for the first 200 or so Classic Owners within the circuit itself. First come, first served!

See you at the weekend.
