saw car this am and drivers side window has been smashed in....nightmare.. is there no respect anymore....owner must be facing a real headache...can you just ring up autoglass and get a delorean window..i think not. perhaps at this low ebb i should leave kindly note on vehicle suggesting my desire to purchase..
thanks for info, those delorean chaps sound good... as to las vegas... i agree that a delorean is not a sensible automotive proposition...if i was after that i'd buy a ford ka...my attachment is emotional...and not through back to the future....i remember seeing the factory whilst visiting family in belfast aged 8yrs. dad took me down there .about 500 sitting in car park in a very rare sunny belfast morning...all the stuff that went on with this car and its creation make it more than a car. it is an iconic motor!!!!i've had lots of crap cars that were "worth it" because of other factors(save for current stead...)

saw one parked outside work today, kings cross.... amazing. anyone got one?? what are they like? anyone seen one for sale??
my other half has one. He bought it from the DeLorean people in Texas and had it shipped over almost a year ago.
He did quite a lot of work on it and had "the UK's foremost stainless steel guru" come over to re-brush the bodywork.
To say he loves his "D" is an understatement. It's a lovely cruising car - we took it down to the Loire and back last month without any problem at all.
It does attract a massive amount of interest from all sorts of different types of people - and the boyfriend is always kept busy dispelling some of the inaccuracies and myths surrounding the car that poeple seem to treat as gospel!
It's not my type of thing - I've driven it once and didn't especially enjoy it. It's HUGE, really wide and barge-like.
But he loves it - and he's found a great community associated with the car in the owners club and likes attending all the events - and that's what it's all about I suppose!

I've got one and I love it. The owners club is first rate and the running costs are modest. Unfortunately, a lot of people slag them off, including in these forums, having never seen one in real life, let alone driven one.
They are not easy to drive at first, low (about 46", LHD and very wide (6'6" but they do attract a lot of almost invariably good-natured attention. The engibne can be de-catted and tuned to hot hatch levels and suspension set-up is pretty good (Lotus).
