Biased but I had a B V8 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I only sold it as I was working away and didn't get a chance to play with it enough.

Surprisingly useful everyday as it accepted unleaded without any problems or needing adjustment and had high geared overdrive for fast roads.

I used to enjoy surprising hot hatches with a standard looking MGB (complete with rubber bumpers) that disappeared into the distance, often without changing gear as it was so torquey.

BGT V8 - mine was very very very loud (some previous owner had put a wally exhaust on)

It was modified slightly and went like the proverbial off the shovel. Used to drive it to work and oddly it didn't have to be the thirstiest beast around.

MGB GT V8 had a couple of tricks up its sleeve. For one it was only available in the GT shell so it was sturdy. And by choosing to fit the Range Rover spec Rover 3.5 it could drink 2 star, and run on unleaded today. The Rover P6 3500 of the time had the 5 star petrol high compression 3.5.

Here’s a thread or me!

For any of you who had the pleasure of going to the Goodwood FOS may recall some of the fantastic offerings around the cricket field. Although not strictly a coupe the Iso Fidia was utterly sublime, first owned by John Lennon and now available for sale. I opened the batting with the chap and came up rather short of his expectations on value unfortunately, mindful of course of what the Deauville had cost recently a Fidia did not ought to be worth much more?

Another Iso which is doing the rounds is a Lele which has done a few laps of Ebay in recent weeks and although I haven’t seen the car I would think that the early teens ought to put it on your driveway.

American V8 engined exotica from the 70’s, so very very right!!!!!

There's a Lele Marlboro floating around at the mo also. One of 5 more powerful lightweight models built for the F1 team personnel. The ad I saw was asking for swaps for 'anything odd'

This is rather nostalgic, an AMC Javelin in Big Bad Orange! Good visibility at night.

Nostalgia my butt. I still drive my Camaro Z28 every day, albeit a 1998 version. Where else can you get 300 plus bhp in such a usable form. I love American V8's and after that, nothing comes close. I loved my Corvette C4 as well and the Z06 I now have may blitz it but is somehow less personable.

I used to love the Lamborghini Jarama although that was a V12. The Monteverdi Hai was a favourite too.

Here's a fiery little oddball. The 401-XR Gremlin, a VW Golf sized car with 6.6 litre V8.

Hmmmmm.......very rare, only 4 built, 2 originally plus 2 many years later from leftover parts. 3 of the 4 are in the Monterverdi museum.

Absolutely evil handling IIRC, but very pretty, oh, and of course it was powered by a 426 Chrysler HEMI

Of those already mentioned, I'd have to agree with Aston DBS V8, Maserati Khamsin, and Gordon Keeble - all favourites of mine. I would also add the AC 428 to the list, and slighty less exotic, but still a lot of fun - the Rover SD1 Vitesse (I own one of those until I can afford one of the others!)

a truly, truly awesome car and one that I will one day own.
I will always remember the truly epic noise of one as a guy blasted past me I could hear it and feel it, very NASCAR esque, I'm guessing it wasn't totally standard!

There was one at in the Goodwood Festival of Speed carpark this year that I fell in love with!

everytime!

The Rover isn't a technically coupe though as it has 4 doors. If that's a coupe so is an Ambassador...aha! LOL.

Well, the Rover SD1 (car of the year 1976!) was influenced by the Ferrari Daytona on looks, and that was a coupe!

Stretching the definition here, but the Ford 260 & 289 V8 transformed the Sunbeam Alpine into a Tiger. The police force liked it : )

Now we're talking

And it sounds rather nice too

But it's a V12 . . .
