What is the Very handsome looking, pre war coupe, that is parked in front of the Anglia ? The location is Harcourt road, Sheffield.
The car in front of it, looks to be a Triumph 2000.

Another Q, what is the car behind the Anglia and is that a white stripe along it or a trick of the light?.

Not with that tapering rear end - a T/A was not only a much larger car but all the saloons had a much more upright rear end with a 'bustle' of varying size.

My first thought was one of the early 'beetle back' Flying Standard models, but it seems they all had split rear screens. I think the Riley Kestrel Four Saloon is the correct answer.

Instantly recognisable as a Kestrel. Rear view to match the OP photo.

Yes it's also the four-light as per the OP and the one you posted earlier is six-light.

I was an MG T Type fan at the time ( about 50 years ago ) but lusted after the Rileys of this period. The photos show just what a beautiful car of the time they were and they renew my fond memories when you could pick one up in Exchange and Mart for £200 ripe for a light restoration, a new battery, some Redex, new points and coil, and then used for commuting to College each day.

Just look at the curved line linking the window cill on the 4 light car, extending down on the rear flank. Exquisite.

Back to dreaming and thanks OP to recall past times. From the photo, the alternative was a ropey Anglia.

Car behind the Anglia is the Coupe version of the Herald. I think the colour scheme identifies it as a 1200 version. A35 van behind the T2000.

Interesting that the Anglia and the Herald are quite badly damaged. Prosperous little garage opposite then!

Can i say this here?.

The Riley MPHmis my favourite pre-war car. Only seen one, once but loved the look of it. Over an Alfa 1750?? Yes, really...

Well said Bryan. Wasn't there some connection between David Bowie and a Riley of that period? That's classic cred' for you!

There was, a Riley Gamecock he named 'Rupert' and wrote a song about.
