Millers CVL...
Discussion
My local motor factors stock it (but they're not your average Halfrauds numpties). Failing that, you can get it from specialist mail order/internet suppliers like Demon Tweeks (probably Burtons, QED and plenty of other engine specialists, too, though I haven't checked their catalogues).
Whereabouts in the country are you?
I believe it does go off - especially once opened. The bottles should be stamped with a 'use by' date.
What car are you using it on? I use it for my old race Crossflow
engine (iron head with no hardened valve seats), but if you are using it in an alloy head engine like a Ferrari, you'll probably find that the valve seats are plenty hard enough to do without it - just keep a close eye on the valve clearances. Obviously, if pinking is a problem you can just retard the ignition slightly and/or run on Optimax or other super-unleaded fuel.
It's bloody expensive, but Thrust Petroleum still stocks and supplies genuine leaded petrol. Check their website for your nearest filling station.

Thanks very much for this.
It's for use in a Daytona. I'm told that whilst the bronze seats should be OK, it's advisable to use a bottle of it every couple of tanks (52 gallons).
I'm running it on Optimax wherever I can, or the alternate brand equivalent should I be on empty before a Shell garage.
I'm based in London, so will check out CVL prices down here JIC.
Thanks again.

I've just checked Burton's catalogue and they list Millers VSP Plus at £4.00 per 250ml bottle.
They're up at Ilford, so not too far out of the way if you are in central London.

I use CVL or CVL turbo,in my LeMans. It works very vell in the bike.I use it with Optimax,& the bike is very smooth,& goes like a rocket! You can buy it from Millers direct on-line.It's cheaper to buy it in boxes though.I did have a slight problem with Detonation.(Bike puts out 15bar of compression),but CVL/TURBO, cures it completely.Tis good stuff, far better than Castrol valvemaster plus etc.
Not sure I use it concentrated enough to notice a massive difference with/without, but was told to use a bottle every other tank (234 litres!) as a precaution.
Think I found somewhere on the web that gives a 10% discount if you buy a box at a time, so it works out at 4.50 a bottle.
Nice bike by the way
