Old Car Adverts.....
Discussion
Does anyone have pics of those old50/60s brochures with the painted pictures rather than photos? The women were always tall and elegant and wearing a hat they couldn't possibly wear in a car and the men always wore a suit. The scale was always impossible too. I had loads when I was a kid.

Does anyone know the significance of the "1800 TU" numberplate often seen in Rolls Royce adverts over the years?
"TU" was the regional identifier for Chester, so cars registered in Crewe from the early 20's onward would get a "TU" plate. The tradition from the early cars must have stuck so all the press cars and Crewe demos have stuck with the well known TU plates. They also use the "WO" plates as well.
