I was a Big fan of theirs in the 80s, had their gorgeous alloys on my MK1 3 Litre Capris and a couple of TR-6s.

Trawling autojumble / trade stands at car shows for stuff like this is often a joy, Cosmic's range of goodies was quite extensive and there's still plenty of it about if you keep your eyes open, items large and small. I picked up these Mk3 5x10 alloys at a Mini show a couple of years ago, they were hiding under the trader's table until I spotted them...

I've got another set waiting to be refurbished which came with a Jap import Mini I've recently sold. Finding the correct centre caps for them isn't easy though, I've been looking for a couple of years and not seen any for sale anywhere...

Way back in the 1970's I had a set of Cosmic's on my Midget.

The 1971 advert showed a Series 1 XJ6 fitted with 15'' Cosmic along with the ubiquitous Mini and Capri...

They weren't exactly common on Jags and I've only ever seen one XJ with Cosmics fitted but a couple did appear briefly on TV in the '70s, one in the Bob Hoskins and John Thaw sitcom 'Thick As Thieves' in 1974 and an early episode of 'The Professionals' in 1978.

March '73 ad...

These were popular...!

Found this pic online last recently...

Lovely - makes a nice change from wires or steelies with hubcaps (not that there's anything wrong with those of course wink).

Cosmics were a popular choice on the Marcos GT too...

JBW in Napton, Warwickshire do reproductions in 6x10 and 5.5x15...

http://www.johnbrownwheels.com/wheels/cosmic/

I put a set of 6x10s on my other Mini a while back, always liked the deep dish look of these, although (I think) most of the '60s and '70s originals had a smaller ridge around the outer rim, rather than the chunky rims of these JBW repros...

Haven't seen any Mk4s for a long, long time...

Those wheels have made her so hungry that she's eating her own wetsuit!

Cosmic alloys still look smart fifty years on I think.

Lunch stop in France en route to the Costa Brava, early '70s.

Love Cosmics, had them on a mid 70’s Audi 100 I ran. I’ve currently got a Austin 1100 running Dunlop D1’s. I would love to find a set of Cosmic Mk1’s for my MK2 Sprite they just look right.

No, It's a capital E inside a sort of chrome circle thing with a crown at the top.

Not an 2000E, see my post previously, its a GT.
Give away, is the high back seats, which only the GT got, plus its a 2-dr, all 2000E were 4dr.
Plus, 2000E was only the 2nd gen Mk3, not the first gen, which this is. The 2000E replaced the GXL.

I'm old, estates back then in the pre-hatch back era were never called 5-dr......they were just 4-dr estates wink
