I went to see an RS 500 today thinking it was exactly what I was looking for. An hour and a half's drive over the Pennines and we roll up outside a house. 3 minutes later I have sat before me everything I wanted in an RS 500 and more. It was an absolutely fantastic piece owned by complete enthusiasts. It's concourse condition and has trophies to prove it. Masses of history, receipts, old MOT's tax discs etc. Like it came from Tickford inside and out It's off for a service with it's current owners and I pick it up from them when it comes back.

To say I am absolutely chuffed to bits is an understatement. A childhood dream has come true and I can't stop grinning...! I have a minter of a car that was the absolute no-holds barred bad boy touring car from the 80's. Sweet

Can't wait to pick it up.

Well spotted Brian, pic rectified thanks. Yep, she's a minter. Currently standard apart from chip, map sensor and injectors - Running 295bhp at the moment Ted. I'll have all the standard parts so might return her to standard but several people have told me now that they don't drive half as well standard with massive lag (the RS 500 has a much bigger T04 turbo compared with the T03 of the regular 3dr).

There to be polished, admired and enjoyed on very nice days.

Thanks Out of the 500 made, there are 140 odd genuine ones accounted for these days. Shame there's so few.
