Resetting voltage regulators?

The generator on my Mk1 Cortina needed a new armature and someone mentioned that the voltage regulator would need to be reset or it might overcharge?

Anyone know how to do this?

These don't normally need adjusting, but if it really does the haynes manuel normally tells you how.

I think theres a key to turn the rotating bit to set the cut in/out voltage, a kind of splined thing
