Concours d'Elegance Paleis Het Loo 2005
Discussion
Hello
this is another fantastic event helt in The Netherlands.
The annual "Concours d'Elegance" plays on the huge ground of the "Paleis Het Loo" which was the former summer house of the Dutch Queen.
You would have a lot of pleasure to all the cars displayed:
1) International Concours area
2) National Concours area
3) the classic car parking space for spectators
There are also very nice concept cars designed by Pininfarina, Bertone, Ghia
The NEW date: September 3+4, 2005
The location: Paleis Her Loo (King's Palace) at Apeldoorn
Apeldoorn itsself is a great and atmospheric city, good pubs and great people and very close to the German border.

DEFINITIVELY an event NOT to be missed. You will love the typical atmosphere - take your picnic case with you.

...generally I find concours very boring. I do appreciate the enourmous work involved but just think 'why'. IMHO!
I had the same opinion some years ago.
There are just 2-3 quality European Concours d'Elegance events and this is one of them not to be missed.
You can't find some of these extremely rare classics or special bodied cars on a race meeting because the cars are not built to be raced or the owners don't like such events.
I like the "special" community and the relaxed atmosphere. For sure, I dislike overrestored cars which
lost their identity and originality just to win a concours - but this can be find in the USA.
