Not only is it unique, it's also the last HWM ever made.
It was designed as a road car by George Abecassis, with a body drawn by Frank Feeley.

Pictures taken at last years George Abecassis Centenary gathering at Silverstone.

Bertone Pirana

The Ghia Supersonic is probably my favourite, there was a very similar bodied Cobra as well.... off to dream...

Guyson E12 - thought it was fantastic when I saw it back in the day (and in the article in Hot Car!) but I'm not convinced the wedge styling has aged gracefully...

The HWM has hints of Lamborghini 350GT.

That Bertone Pirana looks like a mix between a Ghibli and an Espada. If only Jaguar had the guts back then!

Guyson E12: Jensen Healey gone all wrong . . . Bits of TR7 in there.

Very interesting - keep 'em coming!

Please don't insult my intelligence by saying that the XJ-S looked better...

I can see why all of these are rare, without exception they are uglier than the car they were based on <shudder>.

I don't go a bundle on most of them, but I quite like the Ghia XK's, but you can forget the Zagato one. I'd still chose a Sir William original, but I'm glad the Ghia ones exist.

And yes, sorry I prefer the XJS.

I don't think you can say that about this one. It's a Zagato XK140 - it's been doing the rounds this year and I saw it at Hampton Court, stunning!

Totally agreed and a game changer. Why did they not make ... thousands?

I don't know, it's very similar to the white Zagato XK 150 you showed earlier but with a different grill arrangement.

I'm glad you agree. Having been interested in 'classic cars' since I was 16 and approaching 60 there's not much I haven't seen but at Hampton Court I was captivated by it. To take something as iconic as an XK140 and come up with that shows real design skill. So many designers would have made a few alterations to the XK shape but not been bold enough to have gone away from the leaping cat shape. Zagato did and to me that made it even more absorbing. It was the car at Hampton Court I absolutely coveted! smile

I disagree, it just looks like a big Alfa to me. It's nice, but by not looking like a Jaguar it hasn't got the same level of want. But maybe that's because I've never been into Italian cars?
