Is it really 6 cylinder? I can only see five leads coming out the dizzy & that makes it a four pot in my head.

Looks like a B series lump to me and 4 cylinder.

Deffo a 4 pot, narrow rear hinging bonnet a bit like a MGA but not. Not a Healy 100/4 either bonnet opens wrong way. Most 'sports' cars of that era would at least have twin SU's?

I wondered about a Wolseley of the 1950's or an Oxford? Certainly the bonnet slam panel and lock do look BMC to me.

Zooming in it could be a 6 pot, in which case Healy 100/6 bonnet does open that way, but it is not one....I think......

From the length of the rocker cover I'd say 6 cyl; the dizzy could easily have enough wires coming out but they are hidden round the back, the ones you can see look too close together for there to only be four plug leads.

I don't think B or C series had sloping rocker cover like that did they??

Is it Wolseley 6/80 or the equivalent Morris?

If count six inlet tracts.
The brake booster and carb inlet components (filter etc) look Italian to me

Definitely a six. As mentioned, count the inlets.

My initial thought was also a Rootes Group product. (Humber?)

Blimey had to check on that as my dad had a Super Snipe in the 60's. A quick google confirms it was not that version but the 'new super snipe series IV, I recall it as a wonderful barge with big thick bench seats great for lots of kids and holiday journeys sans seat belts.
