Classic LeMans Accomodation

Last minute panic to attend the Classic LeMans.

Friends are stopping near Alencon - anyone know of accommodation in that area - two people ?

Otherwise what's the best website to look at for accommodation ?

We stay in Vendome. We ended up there as it was the last nice town with bars and food that had accommodation. It's less than 30 mind away from Le Mans in an old French car or just under an hour in an English one. Plenty of options for accommodation.

It means trawling through the chambres d'hotes and smaller hotels but most are good and may have availability. Or the obvious, go on Tripadvisor and search the dates for Alencon. I have friends going and they managed to find somewhere just last week - not a hotel but a chambres d'hote but it has good reviews.I always used TA for Monaco GP (usually last minute) and have not had a poor place to stay yet.

Hum - La Chartre sur le Loir is rather a long way from Alençon - and it's fully booked. The OP is sorted now I believe.

Yes Ben, but I am thinking about it for the moment. It is only February and I will be discussing it with the owners about March. That still leaves four months!

Yes, all booked up and looking forward to it.

Since it's my first time are there any suggestions of what to do and what not to do ?
