Looks like I have acquired a 1946 Austin 10.
Any ideas where to get parts? Engine needs a rebuild so I'll need pistons, gaskets and bearings at the very least.
Austin 10 owners club doesn't cover anything later than 1938.

Any suggestions?

The Austin Counties Car Club cater for both 8s and 10s, in addition to Somersets, Devons et al.

Cheers guys.
Alderton services list parts for the austin 10hp is that the same car/engine?
Excuse my ignorance but this is my first austin and I was given it, so I've not done any research on the car.

Thanks again.

You'd need to be sure of the era of Austin 10 they're referring to in their adverts. I *think* the 10/4s of the early '30s differed engine-wise to those built either side of WW2, ie like yours. I've owned both, but never got into that much detail so just check.

First there were the chrome-rad 10/4s (1932-34 iirc), followed by the 10/4 Lichfield (painted rad surround), then the Cambridge (c1937/1938), followed by your type, the GS1, with the rear-hinged one-piece bonnet, which was produced before and after the war.

The "Major Upsett" Austin 10 tourers built during the war also had significant engine differences from the post war cars. I recall. Bearing were different for a start. There are a lot of engine spares around for them (WD overmakes!)

Thanks again.
I've emailed alterton to see if they have the parts for my car.
Hopefully I can find the bits, it'd be a shame for it to rot in the garage due to lack of four pistons!

Thanks
