Help me identify this car please.

I took this photo when I saw and heared this car (the proper looking blue car) going past me in Cardiff the other day.
In guessing its Italian, Fiat, Lancia, Alfa or something like that.
I've shown it to several people now and nobody can identify it.

I suspect someone on here will know instantly what it is and will post it up.

Its a Fiat 124 Coupe I think.

Looks like the Fiat 1800 sport, early 7o's, not the smaller 124, but hey? what do I know

That is definitely a FIAT 124 coupe. The models were AC sold from 1968 normally 1438cc twin cam, 4 or 5 speed, 4 discs, wishbone front, live rear. Then the BC from 1971/75 which had 4 headlights and normally a 1600 engine and 5 speeds. To my mind the prettiest. Then came the CC, which is what this is. normally 1800cc twin cam and 'modernised' styling. Not so pretty to me but the 1800 twin cam was the best. Always twin choke carburettors. I lived in Italy at the time, working for Pirelli. I later had a CS 124 spider., never sold in UK, always LHD unless converted. Mine was a late one, 1981, with fuel injection, ex california car. Pathetic performance until I got at it. Then more performance that handling so i sold it before I crashed it. It is still around with a friend of my son's.

Excellent spot, I haven't seen a 124 Coupe on the road for quite a while. But I think it's a BC - the CC had shorter bumpers, upright rear lights and a small vent in the corner of the rear window, which this car doesn't appear to have.

Was it not badged as 124 Sport coupe ? I desperatey wanted one in 1972 !!

If I remember correctly they were badged as a Fiat 124 Sport.

I had a yellow "K" reg one in the late 70's.

sorry, I stand corrected. I still think that the BC styling is the best, and the 1800 engine, the sweetest. We installed one in the 124SpecialT saloon we campaigned for a short time in the mid 1990's.

It sounds like you have a real passion fot these old Fiats.

Wow..Takes me back! Had a BC back in about 81,got hit in the rear and it was so rotten it just fell apart...Insurance paid out though and i bought a CC that was in good nick. As i recall it was bought new by Joe Bugner... Sold it in 1983 for £900 and bought my first Lotus! 30 years and i still have it! And drove it to work today!
