Hi, not having been to this before, and following the problems at the GP, does anyone have any advice for travelling/parking for the Silverstone Classic?

thanks

i've been going to this for years and parking has never been a problem. when going in a modern car its always been on hardstanding (tarmac or stone) adjacent the entrance. however, when going in a classic it has sometimes taken a while to thread ones way through the site to the infield car club parking. the traffic can build up outside the circuit but nothing like the GP weekend. its a great event, especially if the sun comes out - enjoy.

And take your own food - unless you like cholesterol in spades. Like neutral 3, I was there last year and the E-type parade was a farce, doing a lap in 1st and 2nd gears. Oh, how I miss the "real" Christies and Coys days of the 90's.

Cheers for the advice, well most of it! What is a sensible time to aim to get there?

Check the schedule and turn up for the earliest thing that takes your fancy:

I can't recall it taking that long to get in over the past few years, having turned up somewhere between 9 and 11 most times.

Last year people were taking two hours to get in because of an accident on the A43. Other than that I have not heard of many problems.
