Pictures taken from Swedish Day at the Haynes Museum at the weekend.
It was a real treat for me to be able to have a good look at these.
I'm a big fan of these beautiful old cars.

Some great cars on there, that P1800ES looks lovely, as does the Volvo 164. My Dad had a 1969 144 in that mid blue that do many appeared in. That pic of the open boot takes me back! I recall that there's a hidden compartment on the N/S where the other spare wheel well sits - a piece of ply covered it and it was great to store a tool roll and spare bits.

10 years ago I wouldn't even think about being a Volvo owner. Drove TVR & Caterhams.
Now, I'm onto my 5th 940 Estate (actually 4th my first was a 740)
What a superb workhorse they are, carry everything, totally reliable, comfortable, and can be quick (ish)
Last couple of years I've navigated for a chap in a 544 a couple of times and have stood back and admired the old Amazons.
Quite fancy an Amazon now but prices are rising.
Now, I'm onto my 5th 940 Estate (actually 4th my first was a 740)
What a superb workhorse they are, carry everything, totally reliable, comfortable, and can be quick (ish)

Few years back I was similar to you (die hard Ford Fan) but then I met my girlfriend who has a V70 2.5 and I was very impressed with it. So now I have an Amazon and I'm toying with the idea of replacing my XR4x4 with a C70 T5 or maybe an 850 R (don't know if I will as I've had the Sierra for 5 years and I'm quite attached to the old beastie...).
I still lust after Capri's but the engineering you find on Volvo's is light years ahead of the blue oval cars of the time.
Get an Amazon - you won't regret it!

World anyone like to rescue a 1990 Saab 900i 16 valve convertible? Dark blue, tan leather, power hood, wooden dash, circa 100K miles. Looks solid. The car has been in a parking garage for 9 years, and the garage bloke now wants to sell it to recoup the fees owed to him, which he can lawfully do. The car starts easily and moves around the garage under its own steam. It would probably take little work to get it an MOT. I have been tempted, but have too many old cars.
