Catchy title, huh? Not quite a barn find but I've just bought 5x14" Minilites to fit a Rover P6, unused and still in their original boxes albeit 25 years old!

Any idea how much these are worth? Will upload a photo tomorrow when I have a decent Internet connection.

What width are they and are they mag or aluminium alloy? A call to the makers will probably give you an idea on their worth.

I know some people do fit these to Rover P6s but I would be tempted to put them back in their boxes and hide them in a barn for another 25 years ....

The question is - what other cars do they fit and is there a demand for that fitment in that size?
And if you've just bought them, surely they are worth what you paid for them...

Thanks. They couldn't have been more unhelpful but such is life. As I paid very little for them I was hoping to establish their true value to see of they were worth selling on.

Depends. If you're looking at making a profit sell them now while there's still a healthy demand. Vintage bits are no more expensive than classic.

I'd be interested to know what these are worth too, i have a set of 5 in the back of my garage! I've been intending to fit them to my SD1 but i can't decide if i like them or not.

Phil.

I've got a set of Jaguar centre Minilite mags, perfect condition, I'd also like an idea of value before I sell them.

The reason for asking is that the were supposedly fitted to the Police versions, including the SD1s, although as they're not particularly wide (6J) I can't see the advantage.

If they are original magnesium I might not want to fit them to a car I was going to use as I believe they degenerate through time. Happy to be proved wrong

I'm probably in the minority here but I didn't make myself clear. I personally don't like them and should have written, "put them back in their boxes and bury them where no-one will ever find them"

I'll get me coat ....

Alternatively, you could just jog along to the General bhing forum where you can vent your displeasure at anything you don't like...

In all the times I got stopped by P6's and SD1's they never wore minilites. A triumph dolomite with a rover V8 fitted, yes but never minilites. All allegedly of course wink

dohhh ! why didn't I think of that, I just thought 5 doesn't sound very wide for the Rover wobble

as some one put it depends on what type of Minilite they actually are, I think the free market idea sounds reasonable

I can remember met police using them on mid 80's SD1'S. i think they were the alloy version, not magnesium
