Headlight resilvering?

Hi

I hope I've posted this question in the correct section but does anybody know, or reccomend a decent company where a friend can get two headlamp reflectors resilvered? They are a bit rusty on the lower portion of the reflector bowl but I would immaging, salvagable. I am told it's possible but a quick google search didn't really throw up many suitable results. Incidentaly they are no longer available new and will almost certainly fail the MOT.

If its just for the mot, and the glass is removable gently rub down the affected area and cut and fit suitably sized piece of aluminium ducting tape.
refit the lens and i doubt it will be visible.

No experience of either, though both get good recommendations from the split beetle guys. I need mine done, planning on getting in touch with the guy in germany.

Went through this with a friend who couldn't find a new headlamp for his 1986 Audi coupé and which, incredibly, would have had to be dismantled and sold for spares without an MOT. Took the headlamp apart, sanded the reflector back, bought a £10 can of chrome paint from Halfrauds, and Bob's your uncle.

I had my Firenza lights done at Dual Metallising in Bromsgrove. It wasn't cheap, but they are very nice and shiny now. I got the car through the MOT with "chrome" paint which is nothing like a chrome finish, but nowhere near as good as the real thing. I know some people on the quattro forum (same as Audi coupe) have had reflectors done.
