Paper for window mounting

The quarterlights of my car have something like black waxed paper where you would normally have rubber, it disintegrated when I took the glass out, does anyone know the correct name or where to get some from? I’ve googled but not found the right stuff.

John, if not normal rubber window surround, it could be a thin strip of flocking type of material...now paper looking where flock has worn out and left with only backing material. If not, could you not use quater-light rubber surround to provide water tight seal?

What car is it? Some manufacturers finished window to frame seals with Dum-Dum see...

Thanks. There's not enough gap for rubber, but the DumDum suggestion is good.
