My old man's TR4

Have tried various routes to find my late Dad's 1962 Triumph TR4 which is shown on the DVLA site as being SORNd.

Reg is 9067 RW.

Dad passed away last year, Mum in 2003 and this TR4 was used by my old man to woo my mum back in the 60s in Cardiff. Photo of Mum with car attached.

Have tried the TR Register, begging letters to the DVLA, ads in the "lost" sections of Triumph mags so am a bit stuck now.

Any help appreciated - its in someone's garage somewhere!

have you tried the V888 form and a fiver to the dvla?

there is a section in there that you can fill out for wanting to find who owns the car?

it would maybe worth saying that you have a load of period photos etc that you would like to give to the current owner.

TR Drivers Club, TSSC, Club Triumph, TR Owners Club? Advert in TriumphWorld?

If it's SORNed I would assume that the owner is an enthusiast, and possibly a member of one of the several Triumph clubs. I hope you find it.

Funny isn't it, you can set up a parking/clamping company and get any ino. you want. Have a half decent reason (as far as petrolheads, at least, are concerned) and you get nowhere

I don't know if its any help to you, but HPI records show it had a colour change in in April 1991, shortly after having its last keeper change in Jan 1991. It went from Green to Blue. Chassis number is CT6299, engine number is CT37537E. Good luck tracking it down..

That's because you were upstanding and honest; a less morally upright person might fib on the V888 and say they saw a car bearing that plate hit their car and drive off.

I've set a website to discover all the original 948cc engined Triumph Heralds that still exist as no-one could give accurate numbers and guesstimates were often different from everyone I asked.
I posted pictures of cars on the website only then knowing details of the numberplate - very often the owner then got in touch and said that it was their car - willingly submitting more information which helps the database with great factual stuff.

So buy a suitable domain name and post some details on a site, stating your intentions relating to the car and that YOU DO NOT WANT TO BUY IT BACK as this may be the reason someone hasn't got in touch as they do not want to sell.
