What is this gearbox?
Discussion
For a moment I thought it might be from a Z Magnette, but any that had O/D were retro fits & unlikely to be painted BMC green. It could fit a B series engine, but what is that lump on the bellhousing? The cast bracket on the top of the housing could be for the Clutch slave cyl as on MGA's,
Hi all, I can't help with what the box is from, however I can say it's not an MGB box as they had a remote gearchange mechanism fitted so that the gear lever was over the overdrive. It does look very simular to an MGB box and from the bell housing mountings looks very much like it should mate to a B series engine.

Hmmm, I assumed the remote had been taken off, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to bolt the remote on to.So we're looking for a B series engined vehicle with OD and no remote maybe?
