I went to see this car today, it's in great condition, but not 100% original cosmetically. It should be Silver Fox, with 1600E trim. It doesn't have the original engine, but they were just ford V6's anyway. A very rare car though, and certainly a car that I lusted after 30 years ago! The price is 9k!

I consider that to be way overpriced considering the change of colour and more importantly not having the original engine.

Surely the lack of original engine wont matter unless it was a special? It's just a V6.

Its value depends what documentation & other evidence it has to support it being a genuine Savage - without that, it is just a nice Cortina, with a V6.

I think that it is generaly a good car, an original Savage, in an unoriginal condition! It's not worth what he is asking, but I would buy it at the right price!

This, given the amount of work to make it right, what a shame to molest it like this this. Looks like some dodgy custom car.

I agree that this is a piece of history and worth saving! Everything is reversible as there are no body mods(he has another bonnet) I think that it would be worth it at 7k! No?

The last time I looked the eBay listing was £6300 though!

IMO for it to be worth proper Savage money 'just a V6' isn't good enugh,it would need to be the original V6.

Email the bloke and say look mate it didn't go for £6500 or whatever - will you take £7k?

Is it the original engine though - if not then it's a shame.

I know that my friends ex husband blew the original engine up. It is a pity that it doesn't have the original engine, but most 40 year old cars will have replacements by now unfortunately.

leg your right the engine anit the prob, and i think the 5sp is a good move the 2000e box wasent that strong
just look at the paint, bonnet and where are the crome 1600e rims ?

imo you need to spend a few pennies and put it back to as near origianl as poss then it would be worth money
the 9grand res was a bit of a joke.

It would have been on nasty Dunlop alloys, the current alloys in silver or rostyles would be the way for me! He has the original bonnet. I would try and find a 2000E box too.

I don't know wether to phone with my 7k offer?
