Rover IOE 6, HELP!
Discussion
At this point in my life it is very important to keep old things working. So having a couple Rover 2.6 IOE engines from Land Rover with the Weslake head, I am desperately trying to find some actual technical information about the “lump”. As told to me, Land Rover increased the crank bearing size over the 3.0l but reduced displacement out of concerns for transmission/driveline longevity. I would like to find out if any tinkering for enhancement to power and torque have been successful. I hear the engines like to work below 3000rpm and low end torque matches my intent. Any assistance, constructive thoughts, and meaningful opinions would be appreciated.
This link might be helpful, some knowledgeable folk on it. Whilst not Land Rover, some are versed in the ways of the Landie and might be able to assist you.
