Thruxton is a great track to drive, getting Segrave to Brooklands right is awesome. However, there are better tracks for watching classics (Goodwood, Brands, Donington).

Plus Cadwell, Mallory and Oulton Parks.

Definitely the Revival. It has a great atmosphere with period displays such as workshops, showrooms & garage forecourts.

As already mentioned, the FOS is more of a car show than a period classic meeting.

Another vote for the Revival. Like others here, I did the FoS for many years, early days were great but now dominated by major manufacturer stands and corporate sponsors, too busy. Period Dress is not mandatory at Revival, you can wear what you like. If you are fortunate enough to get hold of a paddock pass you're required to wear jacket and tie there (although last year was a scorcher and they didn't enforce it). However, turn up in a rally anorak and jeans, you might feel a bit our of place, plenty do though.

Thanks for the responses. Useful comments. Neither of us are into fancy dress, so might investigate Member's Meeting or, as someone suggested, the likes of Thruxton.
I went once to look after a couple of cars we had engines in. Took one of my employees. We had the period overalls & hat in the boot of the car. After walking about 100 years in Civies, we both felt right out of place & put the costumes on!
Everyone is doing it, you only feel daft if you don't
Just a heads up....I also avoid any fancy dress as a rule, but don't let it stop you missing one of the best events there is.....

If you like cars, including classics of all ages - FOS.
If you like classics and only upto 1966 classics - Revival.
And that cut-off date really is the problem for me. My interest in cars is really from late '60s onwards...

But been to them several times - both are good.

You need to get to the members meeting, I'm sure you would love it.

I love to see the TVR Griffiths race, which are at both Revival and Members. Though my absolute favourite are the Capris, SD1s and Dollys at Members (yes they are a lot faster than they were). Everyone can also enjoy the paddock at members.
