I see not much has changed at LM, you've taken your eyes off the car and someone is rifling through your boot.

Funnily enough (but not funny) we did have an expensive camera stolen from the XK that year - they could have unbuttoned the tonneau cover - but no, the scrotes sliced it open with a knife.

GT Rene, the Elan was an S4 SE dhc - seen here on the road to Le Mans and also at Rouen (but the latter is definitely not in June).

Pembrokeshire, 1958. Little red Austin looks fun.

As it's Le Mans weekend.

Just over 40 years ago and we arrive at the circuit in my RS along with my convoy buddies in their MG Midget and XK120…..

Sorry tragic geekery here but the red Mercedes is quite rare. They launched the 190 in 1983 with a twin blade single wiper parking in front of the passenger and single washer nozzle but customer feedback was that it wasn't effective. So 8 months into production it was changed to the single blade "jumping" wiper parking in front of the driver and twin washer nozzles. The one in the pic is one of those early cars. Hardly ever see them now - they are becoming "collectable rare" as nerds who know, know....

This seems like a stupid request but if anyone has any photos of the corner of Goldhawk Road and Godolphin Road W12 from the 50s and 60s I'd love to see them. My dad has a spectacle factory on that corner and parked his Vauxhall Wyvern, Ford Consul, Vauxhall Victor 101 and Triumph 2000 on the pavement outside. Not all at once and until the police told him not to.

A few more from the box of slides:

Not Sandon Hall, apparently.

Blurred the faces out, but look in the background:

Early testing for the Abbey Road sleeve:

I really must try my better slide scanner, I'm not sure the originals are quite as poor as these scans. But it's apparently not supported in Windows 10, so it means finding space to set up an old machine and space is something I'm a bit short of at the moment.

Certainly a CA of some sort, and a Mk3 Cortina.

Is there some kind of Merc owners rally going on there? 5 or possibly 6 W114/5s with roof racks!

Google image search has identified it as the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem.

Google image search has decided it knows these too;

St Pauls Cathedral, Mdina, Malta

Hoar Cross Hall Hotel

Probably Villegaignon street, Mdina

Vilhena Palace, Mdina

Triton Fountain, Valletta

Panathenaic Stadium, Athens

Both of these are Panepistimiou street, Athens

Thanks for adding those. Some of the slides (such as the Damascus Gate one) had the location written on them, but not all of them.

I owned a Honda S800, NAF 5F which was originally silver (I think) but had been re-sprayed black before I got it. I loved that little car and by golly, did it rev... I was used to British heaps (Cooper 'S' and then a Triumph Spitfire) and revving an engine to 8500 really made me pucker, until I got used to it.

Spares were getting tricky to acquire even back then. It desperately needed a new exhaust manifold/downpipes but there were none around to be had.

My stepdad borrowed it one day and wrote it off!
Roller bearing crankshaft on this little gem , my pal when he was at motor vehicle college they ran one up to 11k RPM no issues I think valve bounce was the governing factor the tutor was making a point and was a Honda nut
Coincidentally just seen these. Sold for £13,400 The hammer price caught my eye, bet you couldn't give them away at one time.

What do you mean by 'twin motor'? From what I can find out they had a 790cc straight six?
