The car is a Peugeot supplied by Reading Garage Christchurch Rd Reading in 1989.( The firm and the premises are long gone.)
Looking for images of the rear window dealer sticker, tax disc holder, number plates. Does anyone know where we can find them or a firm that can supply them. Suggestions appreciated.
Did you manage to find anything in the end. My car is from the very same garage. Cheers, MikeLooking for images of the rear window dealer sticker, tax disc holder, number plates. Does anyone know where we can find them or a firm that can supply them. Suggestions appreciated.

Maybe whoever was the manager at Reading Garage in 1989 decided not to bother putting branded tat all over the glass of new customer’s vehicles, so there aren’t any designs for that period.
Pretty sure no one nowadays pleads dealerships to put windows stickers in their new car, so I can’t believe they did so then either.
I’m old enough to remember that it was the universally done thing by dealers - one caveat; if a customer asked that the sticker was omitted, or they removed it themselves on taking their car home for the first time. Pretty sure no one nowadays pleads dealerships to put windows stickers in their new car, so I can’t believe they did so then either.
From the introduction of the flat-style printed number plates, somewhere in the mid to late 70s, this gave dealers the opportunity to print their logo and telephone number as a form of advertising. Of course, over some years, rear window dealer stickers faded and went brown with the heat, which probably prompted a lot of original owners to remove them.
Then there was the second hand car market, with those dealers tending to leave the original plates on the car in the early days, and removing and replacing the window stickers with their own. Later on, they’d either replace number plates, or place a small sticker with their own logo and number over the original dealers details.
It’s nice to see original, one or two owner time warp cars coming up for sale, as they generally sport both original plates and non-faded dealer stickers.

I vividly recall their windscreen sticker, plus one of my TR-6s ( a 72 model ) and one of my Range Rovers ( a 78 model ) were supplied by Man Everton. In the 70s and 80s, their screen stickers were So commonly seen on BL products, Jags etc etc.To bring a thread back, I'd love to get a Rob Walker (Bournemouth) Limited sticker - I've got a Lancia Fulvia which was supplied by them when new in 1972 and it would be great to have one in the rear window but I can't find an image anywhere. It was searching for that which led me to this thread. If anyone can help I'd be really grateful. The companies mentioned here for supplying the stickers don't list it unfortunately.

I finally found a Pennine Motors logo, in a circa 1973 edition of the weekly Motor or Autocar magazine. ALL of the dealers back then used both of these mags. Well worth buying a few issues !Not quite the thread I know, but I sent some money off last year for some stickers and plates (in the correct font) and that was the last I ever heard of it. If anyone can recommend someone who can make me up some show plates in the correct 1988 style font I'd appreciate it.
The idea that a typeface can be, in effect, illegal really grinds my gears.

I am sure if you could get some realistic looking artwork you could get a one-off made by a sign company. Worth ringing around.
No idea on cost though ...
The lettering on these old things are always a bit rough round the edges and not as crisp as today's typefaces due to the old-style production processes.
Probably screen printed back in the day or something ...
