Wow again, That looks so bad it might just be the real deal, i would say 95% it is! I do hope the floor etc is partially salvageable.
Turreted, Atlas etc Those Early works Escorts were very basic in comparison to what they became.
Wonder why the cage, which i suspect was just a 6 point bolt in jobby, has been removed??
Fascinating
Well it's been white at one time Maybe removing the cage, engine etc. was first on the list in the renovation; then it stopped. Agree its condition befits a well used aged rally car; got all the right scars.Turreted, Atlas etc Those Early works Escorts were very basic in comparison to what they became.

Vertical shockers & turreted, period fuel pump (Jag if I'm not mistaken?)
Did notice cable clutch to the 2000E box but that may be the get around in the early days before the Mexico appeared, after all it was a plan drawn on the back of a fag packet.
My mate compliments the text as he remembers seeing the rallycross on TV.

That just might be the original shell......there's a few details to indicate it might be.
Although, it doesn't have any gussets on the front chassis leg/bulkhead - which I would have thought a Grp.6 spec Boreham shell would have had at the time...?
OK, a quick look in the 'bible' and it was built as a Group 2 car......should have been obvious really from the period photo's as it's fitted with quarter bumpers, and the Group 6 cars ran without.Although, it doesn't have any gussets on the front chassis leg/bulkhead - which I would have thought a Grp.6 spec Boreham shell would have had at the time...?
Still a ? mark over the lack of bulkhead/chassis leg gussets., but that maybe correct for the time for Grp.2.?
And another £53,500 ..........47 miles since test in February 2015 :-

53k for an Aussie built Twin Cam https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/1970-ford-e...
And another muppet seller writing BS in adverts.
AVO had absolutely nothing to do with this car at all.

This looks like the one that was in the auction at Goodwood Circuit a few years ago.
It was a no sale at that time.
Good memory, found earlier. - https://cars.bonhams.com/auction/22718/lot/47/conc...It was a no sale at that time.
I know someone who has (had ?) an identical car.

Not sure, but my memory cells seem to tell me this was up for sale/restored in the Fareham area a few years ago ???????????

I take it the aussie car above was not Twin Cam spec when it left these shores originally then?
It's got square headlamps, so it's a full Aussie built one, not one of the first batch which were 'knocked-down' build, assembled from a bodyshell and parts kit shipped out from Halewood, and thus had round headlamps...and full UK spec.Ford-Aus soon after started using fully locally made Escorts parts including the body shell's which are not exact UK-spec Type 49 shells, and things like the rear axle radius arms were different, and quite a few other bits and pieces.....so a square headlamp Aussie TC is very different in detail to a UK built original TC.

They seem to be a bigger spread of colours too, compared to the generally white uk cars.
