Thanks for all the replies guys,I know this is a difficult one.
I have a mate who is restoring a Peugeot 205GTI that was supplied by Reading Garage Peugeot Dealer of Christchurch Road Reading in 1989.To make it perfect he would like it to have the original rear window dealer sticker, tax disc holder and number plates. Trouble is there is nothing on his car so we have no idea of the design.
The other problem is that Reading Garage moved premises three times, started Rootes, and followed the Chrysler,Talbot,Peugeot route. The sticker in 1989 could be Peugeot/Talbot or just Peugeot ? The ideal would be to find an old Peugeot that was sold by Reading Garage around 1989, a long shot I know.
I found this on Google images, but nothing of their Peugeot Dealer in Christchurch Road.
I think it is likely that it did have a rear window sticker - I remember the stickers being phased out in the mid 1990s. My mother bought a Peugeot 309SR in August 1988 from a different dealer - that had a rear window sticker with Peugeot Talbot on it. I still have the key ring, that has the dealer's name on one side and the Peugeot and Talbot logos on the other.

Early 70’s Ford dealers were.

There is a company that carries templates of old rear window stickers and tax disc holders for popular garages of the time.

I had KT Dartford remade

Glovers of Ripon used to screw that her badge onto the glovebox door of Rolls-Royce and Bentley. I wonder if any new owners demanded a new veneer free of holes

Looking for images of the rear window dealer sticker, tax disc holder, number plates. Does anyone know where we can find them or a firm that can supply them. Suggestions appreciated.
Did you have any luck with this in the end? I have a 1986 205 which I am restoring from the very same garage.

Repro Stewart & Ardern sticker in my '68 Cooper S, it was slightly over sized so I trimmed the depth a little...

I'd like to get the other version done as a repro at some point...

I have had a batch of " Unbeatable BMW" rear screen decals made. We managed to find a remarkably original / ultra scarce, Ceylon gold 3.0Si which still has its original decal and copied it.
These were fitted by BMW main agents, from 1971 onwards, to the 3.0CS / 3.0CSi / CSL, 2002, 2500, 3.0S and 3.0Si.

Meant to post this with the Stewart & Ardern sticker photos, in some Minis it was screwed to the floor crossmember just inside the door but I put mine on the dash rail...

No, they were taken over by Kennings.

I well remember the big art-deco S&A showroom at the Vale, as my Uncle&Aunt owned a business nearby in Warple Way, and so I used to be down that area on a very regular basis all through the late 60's and into the early 80's.

You may well have seen my Cooper S there, it arrived there in November '68 but didn't get sent to another Morris dealer in Finchley until April '69. It was built on the day in October '68 that Longbridge discontinued the three synchro gearbox in favour of the four synchro one, which probably accounts for it's long stay at Acton before finding a buyer All very trivial stuff but I find it fascinating!

I'm not sure actually, it was the first photo I came across in a google search under 'Stewart & Ardern', it could be Acton...

Maybe whoever was the manager at Reading Garage in 1989 decided not to bother putting branded tat all over the glass of new customer’s vehicles, so there aren’t any designs for that period.

Pretty sure no one nowadays pleads dealerships to put windows stickers in their new car, so I can’t believe they did so then either.
Mine definitely had a Dealer sticker from new, as it is still in place. However, 32 years of sunlight has completely obliterated it. Its impossible to make out any form of design or detail.
