Yes, I think it's an RO80 - rear pillar vent is a clue

Also, I think the BMW is a 02 series (pre 3 series) rather than a 5 (if we're talking about the yellow one in the centre of the pic).
1974 I reckon. My father was a faithful VW - ist in the 70's and had many examples from that shot - Beetle 1303, Type 3 Variant, Scirocco, B1 Passat...
