Carlube motor oil and Lotuses (or is that Loti?)
Discussion
I don't know how to quantify Carlube oil quality in the market place. Most factors in my area stock it and little to no alternative. Obviously it's more about profit for them than meeting lesser demand for vehicles requiring better quality lubricants such as Mobil 1 or similar. Of course there's little to no profit to the factor selling these higher end lubes in small quantities, but more information on Carlube and Comma as stocked by mainstream factors should be readily available.
Reading the grade on the bottle is one thing but seeing the technical spec sheet for a particular carton of lubricant is a lot more revealing, making choosing a much simpler task. As it is now it's almost impossible to identify spec of common high street brands against those of high grade manufacturers who readily release this information. The problem of course stems from those suppliers who package rather than manufacture, and them not wanting you to know whose oil is in their packaging in fear of us never buying anything but the genuine product. That's my theory anyway.
