I'm off work (BCA Blackbushe) for the month marking exam papers but my wife also works there and reports a 'gorgeous Lotus' sitting just outside the main doors with some paperwork on its windscreen. She has promised to read the details tomorrow. In the meantime, her recollection of it best fits:

Could it really be?
Wikipedia says it never went into production. I'd never heard of it.
More details tomorrow.

Either an Evora or an Europa.

This is the famous M250 concept, purporting to be a sneak preview of a 'grown up Elise'.

It was supposed to go into production in 2002

But was killed off as it wasn't a 'global' car

Of course we got the Evora instead, somewhat later but a pretty good compromise - the M250 had alot of fans.

It looks like the new management are clearing the decks at Hethel. It will be interesting to see who picks it up and for how much. But for the taxman's latest demand I might have had a punt myself!

Its a Europa, non factory car but an 09. There's an Exige in there and 2 Elises as well.

The M250 belongs to the same Dutch collector who has the Etna, I believe. He's the top man at Lotus Club Holland.

The M250 had pride of place in the Lotus design studio - saw it when this was opened up at Lotus's 60th birthday bash. The Lotus guy confirmed it was the same car they sent to the Geneva Motor Show as the original concept. I had a deposit on this car and sat in it at Geneva, so they let me sit in it again. The door mechanism had broken (remember, it had Lambo type lift up doors) and someone had to hold up the door to let me in. I'm sure the car was never sold and is probably still sitting somewhere in Hethel.

The Dutch chap (Olav) definitely has an M250. It is silver, unlike the one pictured above, so I am assuming that there were at least two built.
