1991 Elan wheel question

Meantime, here's a few pointers to bear in mind when thinking of changing wheels.
1. The offset on the standard wheels is +60mm. Try to get wheels with an offset as close to that as possible. I wouldn't go under, say, +45mm. Even at +45mm the handling may suffer a bit and there may be an increased wear rate on bearings etc. Also, if you have fitted uprated brakes then wheels with a lower than standard offset may not fit properly over the calipers.
2. The diameter of the hub bore is 56.6 mm.
3. The bolt pattern for the Elan is 4 x 100mm.
Hope this helps.

Compomotive were very helpful when they made the racing alloys for my Esprit, they have all the specs and are reasonably priced I found. Plus the alloys look pretty smart and are really tough.
