Elise GT1 suffers early departure in Sebring race

Team Elite had a tough time of it when racing their Elise GT1 at Sebring recently. The twelve hour race was part of the American Le Mans Series and should have provided a valuable test for the Lotus.

A persistent oil leak caused much distraction though and their race was then cut short by gearbox problems after only seven laps. Not finishing the race is always a shame but it also meant less time on track to learn about the car.

Taking consolation from the event a team boss Keith Smout commented, "The car was fifth fastest through the speed trap ", continuing "We think that there was another 10 to 14 seconds in the car around Sebring given the right preparation. We need to get in plenty of test miles, and learn more about the car before we race it again. "

Seriously Lotus is cursed. Lotus I believe, genuinely carries a curse, that passes from car to car. Think about it, has there been ANY luck with Lotus cars, ever?

Get the car running correctly and show the racing world what Lotus is capable of!

Good luck! Erm..
