Engine Upgrade

I have a S2 Sports Tourer. Just the standard 118 BHP engine. I was hoping to do an engine upgrade soon, and was wondering if anybody had any advice or recommendations. I would be getting somebody else to do it,since i know nothing about cars! I can spend £3500 maximum, but obviously less is better. Sorry if i have repeated any previous threads. There just seems to be so many options out there..!

The usual tuning is exhaust, exhaust manifold, other inlet like hurricane or ITG, flowed heads, different cams and valves. Should give somewhere around 160 hp and more torque.
If you go for the DTH boddies you could get from 170-210 depending on the stage of tuning and also the reliability. Check www.seloc.org for more info about elise tuning.
