All UK cars manufacturer are prestigious and have a fragile financial position.

Big groups can buy and support Lotus.

Just one thing, TATA is not so bad ! It is a big group and they have money !!!

It wouldn't necesarily have to be a uk car company, just a large, finacially secure company. I can't imagine TATA are going to tell Lotus how to build a car, they will just hand out the wedge and get some new industry expert to run it I guess. There must be a lot of uk companies with enough cash floating about. Would be good to try and keep it owned in the uk.

Show us the evidence!! This would be quite major news and I'm sure someone, somewhere would have written something about it. If it is true, then I'll be waiting for a 400bhp Lotus-Tata pick up truck, or how about some sporty earth moving equipment?

I saw a press release on a motoring website saying the very same. It was dated April 1st and said at the bottom that it was in fact an April fools joke.
