Lotus Elan S2 (M100)

Hello, I have just bought a Lotus Elan S2. Have been asked by my insurance company whether it is fitted with a Thatcham Cat 1 imobiliser.
Car has a pirhana alarm, but all looks pretty standard kit. Anybody know how to check, and if it hasn't got one, any advice on where to get one fitted. Did they have cat 1 alarms when they were new? Any advice gratefully accepted. Thanks

The best thing is to take it to a place that fit Alarms and ask there opinion, if it is a Thatch one then you`ll need a place that will check over it and give you a certificate at a cost.

IIRC, the Brains of the alarm should be in a metal case, i`m sure if you google a search you can get more imfo

The S2 was originally fitted with a Gemini alarm as well as an immobiliser, so yours must be an aftermarket replacement. Check any receipts you got with the car, as there may be one from an alarm specialist from the time the Piranha was fitted. That apart, the best thing to do (as Monty says) is to take it to a specialist alarm installer and ask them to check it out.

can anyone recommend a good (but Cheap) garage near Chesham, Buckinghamshire? all I need is a couple of tyres and an oil change but I don't want to let just anyone loose with my pride and joy...! Ideally someone that would get to know the car and who I could use as my go to guy in the future.
