im not suprised it didn't sell well. it was a great car, but lotus insisted on selling it as a grand tourer. so when car magazines and car reviewers tested the new "lotus grand tourer", they were dissapointed. if they sold it as "the more practical elise" im sure it would be a different story.re: copy of received mail....

I'm a proud owner of a BRG coloured (tan interior) Lotus Europa SE, delivered four weeks before end of production announcement. Believed to be one of only 3 'SE's in Switzerland. My dealer estimates another 6 'S'-spec. cars. However, this is one of the rarest Lotus models ever produced. Take care about them.

Well, I own a Starlight Black/Luxury Tan S 225 one, and be very happy with it since 2 years. More practical than Elise/Exige, and going the hell!
The new five year Lotus-plan confirms that this sort of car will be the last real Chapman spirit focussed product.
If they want to play in the other league, it will take many years, and will disapoint the historical Lotus buyers, xith losing the real Lotus aura.
Too sad !

I'll post some pics as soon as possible. But believe me, it looks awesome.
And here it is. My beloved Lotus Europa SE with
- black grills instead of silver
- non-striped door-panels
- non-tinted back windows
What do you think?

been doing some research into the europa these past few weeks with a view to getting one mid/late next year.
whether the re-routing of lotus in general will see depreciation slow down or speed up we shall see! despite the rather mixed reviews though, i see them as being quite collectable, especially with the very low numbers produced - intend on buying/keeping for some time too

Most O6/07 ones have dropped to 50% of the list price (although very few were sold at 'list'....). My expectation is that for the next two/three years most Europas will hold at around £17k, with a few leggy bargains to be had, and the odd low-miler staying around £20K+.whether the re-routing of lotus in general will see depreciation slow down or speed up we shall see! despite the rather mixed reviews though, i see them as being quite collectable, especially with the very low numbers produced - intend on buying/keeping for some time too
I've been toying with keeping or selling mine. However, unless I went for something much more exotic, there is nothing else that can offer the same blend of rarity, usability and performance. So I think I'll hang on until I can afford at GT3 or 430 Scud!
