Not sure what is going on with Lotus, but I have emailed them several times over the last two months with several questions about the Elise. I have emailed the PR, Sales and Engineering Departments from address on the www.lotuscars.co.uk web site. I have heard nothing back from them. Is this the correct contact or is this typical of Lotus. I do hope that the post customer care service is better than the pre customer service.

Not sure about Lotus but many companies ignore correspondance via their websites which is ridiculous and rude.

I think this seems to be the norm sadly, I have tried emailing them and never hear anything.

It sure is sad. They have all the high tech web sites, one wonders for what. For quiries what would be the best way...snail mail. Any suggestions.

It's not the case with all of them.
When Peugeot showed the RC Concept at Geneva a couple years ago, I sent them an email via their website begging them to put it into prodution.
I got a reply, and it was even a personal email rather than an auotmated reply.

So some of them do reply.

Sadly their not gonna make it, they reply, but dont listen!

Try directing your questions to your local dealer, maybe they will take more interest than Lotus. Sad but true.

Edit: just looked at your profile, doubt you *have* a local dealer... umm, try a dealer in a location of the UK you might like to visit sometime.

Wow, After my third email and slightly sarcastic email to Lotus..I got a response. Now I got a place to sned my Questions. Yes unfortunalty I dont believe there is a dealer at current in my neck of the wooods. I have seen a few series 1 around and a speedster. With the new F1 track being built I figured an Elise would be the perfect toy car.

Woohoo

Sounds like that will be fun. How does the engine cope with all that sand?

Well Toyota's are very popular here in the sand box because of there durability and reliabilty in the enviroment. Also all the Ferrari's and Porsche's here cope with it well.

Lotus, in my view, have one of the worst marketing/PR teams around.
New Elise launched. How difficult would it be to put that on their website? How difficult would it be to send emails to Lotus life members? How difficult would it be to instruct their dealers to send out mailshots to customer base?
Don't get me wrong I love everything Lotus. But if they intend to start competing with the big boys then it's time they pulled their socks up!

Me.... marketing.....nooooo.
Just really upset that Lotus have handled the situation (in my opinion) as badly as they have.
I have so much respect for what the company stands for, and it seems so stupid.
Brands don't just stand up on their own... never be that naive.

Just to even up the balance a bit. I had cause to Email Lotus from the contact pages on their website shortly after I bought my Elise. Within a few days I had a reply from a very helpful lass called Jaime Osborne. She was very helpful (much more so than my dealer) and made good on all the things she said she would do. Perhaps they were just busy DesertFox, if they are anything like me they get hundreds of Emails every day, most of them almost unreadable.

Well guy's I cann't believe it but I finally got my questions answered from Lotus. Surfing the net for Lotus stuff I came across the name of the lotus Europena Press Officer. I figured I give Lotus one more try. I sent him a list of my questions. Amazingly a few days later I got an answer from Lotus International Sales and Marketing with all my questions answered...Best news they are looking into a dealer in Dubai!!
