Recommend me a garage in/near Derby
Discussion
I'm in the bad situation of being made redundant, so my pride and joy has to go. Its heartbreaking but I can always buy another when my situation improves...
Unfortunately about two weeks ago my M100 Elan developed a missfire. I've checked the ignition coils, spark plugs and leads but they are all fine. I don't really have the time or resources to do anymore myself so I need someone to fix it quickly so I can put her up for sale.
I know Peter Smiths is fairly close but I've always been a bit wary of using main dealers due to the costs involved. Are there any independant specialists nearby? Are my fears about Peter Smiths labour rates unfounded? Wherever the car goes it will need to be trailored I think so it can't really be too far from Derby.
Thanks.

You may have checked the leads etc. - but have you replaced them ? Leads can look fine but still be faulty - and it's a hell of a lot cheaper to replace them than pay for anyone to check them for you.
This list is usually quite helpful btw : http://www.southrun.co.uk/dealers.php

Yeah, I've checked both the leads and the ignition coil and they are fine (replaced them both about a year ago)due to a similar problem. Spark plugs are okay too.
Thanks for the list. I don't see anything independant that is nearby though. In its present state I don't think I can drive the car for more than a few miles.
