Hi guys, I was overtaken by a Lotus Carlton Estate today on the M56...
Is this a home grown special?

There is an estate that was converted using parts from a real LC. I believe it was sold on ebay along with the donor shell some time last year.

Here's some pics from "back in the day" courtesy of the Autobahnstormers club

Edit to say I believe this is the only one with the correct running gear etc as i've seen some shoddy GSi replica's in the past but you'd be hard pushed to say they were similar to a real LC.

But the question is what designates the difference between a genuine Lotus Carlton and a bitsa made out of genuine Lotus Carlton spares ?

In my mind, the Bitsa Estate, even though using genuine parts, is a replica as it never went through the Factory production line and is and never will be doccumented as a Lotus Carlton.

Still a nice motor though biggrin

I seen it this morning also on the M56 on a trailer with the front end smashed.
